hmmmm....you know....I think space was limited and RSVPs were required. But I might be wrong. in any case, you're date and time is correct.

Maybe Kohu`ulaMINI or MINIkahuna can confirm?

You guys should have fun with the convertible. I saw the MC and MCS 'verts on the mainland in early August and it was very similar to the regular MINIs. The trick part of the folding mechanism is the roof peels back about 14 inches to provide a pseudo targa top. After it is fully folded, you can lift the back edge up to fit long items into the car. If I remember correctly, the top mechanism can also be operated from the keyhole.

Never got to drive the car to see if there is increased cowl shake, but my understanding is that there is @ 200 lbs of extra bracing under the car to prevent this.

The answer is yes...on all counts!
Yes, space is limited
Yes, RSVP is highly recommended
Yes, regalic had an invite as he sneaked a peek at his new awesome looking Black Eye Purple, ooops, I mean Purple Haze/White roof MCS in the storage lot.

I haven't seen so many people in one area since the Zooper sale!

It was great to see so many new and old (err, friendly ) faces.

Hey those new colors and neat. Now I've got to see them in daylight to fully appreciate them.

The cabrios were the bomb.

Now my mission is to get one of my family members interested in a cabrio.

I don't think I can part with my MCS, especially since they don't make indi blue anymore

Man, is Waikiki jammed up with construction and traffic at night or what!

Many thanks to MINI of HI and staff for the celebration. Great turnout.

Okay I saw a new thing I want to install on my MINI.

Those license plate holders with the little tab for the inspection and registration stickers are a much needed upgrade. So whats the deal with them (where and how much).

Also it was nice to meet some people from the boards. Now we need a real MINI rally drive somewhere. Downtown is just a little to crowded to try and pack 40+ MINI's in.

Those safety check holders might not be available as the person that used to run the group buys and whose friend makes the holders has left the MINI fold and moved over to start the Scion Xb club. There are some unkind memories of her MINI so she may not be willing to do more sales of MINI stuff other than to unload whatever she has on hand.

you can buy a cheaply made one at any major car or aftermarket parts store for about $15 (or $30 if you try to buy it at the dealership)....or if you want one like the ones i had made, please PM me. they're also $15 and i have a few left...but, you must also take all my other MINI stuff! hahah, kidding.

thanks to the beast for alerting me to this thread

hey mini-t...cheaply made is right. yours are super awesome...and as a matter of fact, several people were asking me about where I got them from. how many you got left...i know of 3 people that were intersted, plus regalic.

btw...do you still have that mini stuff? let me know. i totally forgot about it.

btw again...my brother's buying an xb. they're just trying to figure out what color they want. shoot...i'm kinda jealous... (shhh...don't tell anyone)

I'm not on yahoo anymore...email me how many more safety check holders you got and about the mini stuff.

thanks and hope your xb club is doing well...maybe we can do some club stuff together!

Great Cabrio Launch

Darrel, MINIUSA and everyone, thanks for a really great night. Gad, I haven't been to a September launch of a new car model for at least 40 years when O'Connor Lincoln Mercury in L.A. used to draw the showroom curtains for a week, then bring out the searchlights, free model cars for the kids, champagne and even an orchestra for the adults. Let's do this every year.

The cars were wonderful, the turnout awesome, and the food and minitalk just the best. Loved the fashion show! I'll bet lots of the tourists will tell their friends back home about our rally, too.

Thanks all.

It was great to see who the other mini drivers & enthusiast were in hawaii. Seeing what a bunch of mini's(modified) look like for the first time was bad.
Just wanted to say Mahalo's to everyone.
