JCW 30K maintenance....Part II.....

As planned today, I dropped my Coupe after mostly a 3 hours drive to the Seattle dealership.

The Service Advisor asked the Shop Foreman to drive with me to make sure they can confirm where are the rattles coming from and any new ones not recorded since the last 04/16 service.

It was about an hour test drive but I believe he found everything. They will even replace the fender scuttles.

As a loaner for the week, I have a 2017 S HT with 3K. This is pretty weak about power on Sport Mode on mountain roads but the seats are nice.

They change the plugs every 10k. It is still under the maintenance plan until 07/17.

If you have to change your plugs every 10k, something wrong with the engine. And if the dealer thought that was normal. Something wrong with the dealer.
Maybe the JCW is on a different schedule?

Interesting. How often should the JCW plugs be changed compared to the MCS?

I assume they have done at mostly 30K now. I will see Friday when I will pick up my car in Seattle.

After mostly 2 weeks, my JCW Coupe is dearly missed but it seems all the rattles have been fixed.

Plugs get changed 30K per standard interval, or sooner depending on the CBS system (when they scan your key at the dealer.)

Mine were changed at 9500 miles because the car hadn't been driven much by the PO between delivery in Dec '12 and when I purchased it (with 8300 miles) in May '16. I assume the PO only drove the car below the speed limit in heavy traffic (out in the Hamptons on L.I) which caused the plugs to be heavily coked in a short time.

Smoothed out the starts and ran a lot better as a result. Now she gets driven properly with the occasional country road blast and long highway runs so she should get to 30K for the next plug interval.
