TR 17X8 rims

I picked up a set of TR-C4 17X8/45 offset rims to replace the stock rims at 19 lb each for $119.00/rim. They are painted a light grey and look good on my 03 R53. I use the car for autocross as well as local driving. I have Bridgestone RE71-R tires mounted on the rims and they are an exceptional tire for autocross extremely sticky. I do not expect them to wear well---the tradeoff for sticky/soft compounds is poor wear, you can't have both.

I am eyeing up the 17x8's as well... was considering the 35mm offset advanti's Also for Autox, I will probably go with re71's this year again, but I won't run them for daily use, they wear too damn fast.

What tire size did you go with? any spacers needed? Are you running adjustable control arms and camber plates? Did you need to make any adjustments for them to fit without rubbing?

I went with 215/45-17 Re-71-R tires, no need for spacers with 45offset----stock wheel is 48offset. I am in DS which is a stock class so no camber plates ans stock control arms with stock springs. I was tempted to go with 225/45-17 for the front but did not.

The 03 copper S came with 17X7 rims, the rules state 1" larger or smaller so no STX.

1" in diameter not width, you must retain stock width, but you can go to 16's or 18's (my car came with 18's - JCW).

You are so right, as a beginner in autocross I did not catch that ----thanks for educating me---when I read 1" I fixated on the width.
