Who has NOT had issues with their 05-06 aisin transmission?

Hi all,

I'm in the market to get another MINI. I'm looking to get an 05-06 MCS, my only concern now is reading the massive thread about all the continued tranny issues, except this time not with CVT, but with the newer Aisin trannys. The problem is, it's so easy to get caught up in all the issues when thats what people typically come to forums for.

Who here has driven 100k+ and NOT had issues with the valve body or anything w/ their aisin transmission?

Thanks!

I just sold a 2006 with the Aisin at 57,000 miles. I changed the fluid and filter, reset the shift points and it has not had any issues. The fluid looked like it needed changing but that's not very scientific. I did not send a sample off for analysis because I knew I was changing it anyway. I know it's not the 100,000 miles you are looking for but it's all I've got.

No issues after I replaced the valve body and solenoids at 86k miles! LOL.....
It was my sons 2006 Mini cooper S. He has 150k miles on it now and no issues. I replaced VB with a REVMAX rebuilt one. Had one small issue with the k2 solenoid a while back. They sent me a whole new set at no charge even though my warranty was slightly expired.

I change my Aisin transmission fluid every 10 to 15 thousand miles.

No problems.

This is what should be done instead of trying to make the fluid last forever; it won't.

99k on my 06 MCS. I changed the fluid at 60k and haven't had a problem yet.
