Where to start?

Hey guys, I have a 2013 countryman S model about to be out of warranty... so that means mod time! I've been looking but have not been able to find much about "real big gains" where should I start? Canine actually make one of these guys fast? Thanks

I started with suspension and intake, and regrettably a JB+.
Depends where you are, what your budget is like, how mechanically savvy you are, how fast you actually want to go, etc. Your statement is quite vague, so answer some of these for me and I could help some.

Ok, thanks for the reply... back story I was going to hold on to this for 2 years and then trade it for the new countryman with the 2L engine but I don't like the fact that they are making them even bigger than they are so I will not go through with that plan, so I started planning to trade in for a 5.0 mustang. Then I stopped because anyone can buy a lighter v8 and be "fast". So now I want to make this little 1.6L put out some power. But it seems everywhere I search all I can really find are parts for the R56's. I'm not so much looking for top speeds, just rather quick acceleration. I'm ballin on a budget so I will be getting parts at different times. I've never built on smaller engines like this, I have an 89 fox that I've been building over time. I just don't know what is reasonable to expect out of this car when you start modding it. Can it compete with chargers and things or just end up being a slightly peppier go kart?

Bigger turbo and tune oldbrokenwind has a nice build going. If you can stand running more rpms going small diameter to 15in wheels/tires that are super light and still fat for grip will be crazy fun and you can still switch back. A hybrid bolt in turbo is good for about 250ish hp with a new down pipe a must, lightening the car rear seat delete ect, An LSD is nice I run a wavetrac.
Adding a cam will help but like all engine mods you need a good ecu tune to get the best results

Depending on how far you want to go and your budget there are many options for you. A tune is by far the best bang for the buck for power

But also Intercooler and Downpipe. We offer many options and are happy to work with you to get you to your goal.

Honestly, while these are all great suggestions, it depends on how fast you want to be. The CM is a bit heavier than the regular cooper, so hybrid turbo to me, is not viable for "fast." If you are trying to compete with an STI or EVO per se, it's going to be a lot more than above. Personally, I would find out limits of the motor, trans, diff, etc, and go from there. I don't know them personally, but for a countryman to be "fast," IMO, it is going to take more fuel (injectors and pump) a much larger turbo (GT28/GT3071, etc) a very good tune, clutch, full exhaust, better cooling and a good driver lol.

My personal plan is a GT28, just to have something more fun as a DD that can pull when I need it to, and still get solid MPG.
