E85?

I have not done any research yet but do people run e85 on their minis? If so what needs to be done in order to run 85. What are some pro/cons?

Some of us run 30% E85, but our fuel systems are not made to handle the extra load needed, especially when a tuned. 18 months ago there was talk about a company "Fuel-It", to build a fuel pump to handle the demands of E85. The modified Mini market is extremely tiny compared to the Mustang, Corvette or even GTR world, which means it most likely never happen.
Today you can do a downpipe, IC, tune and Methanol for up to 270whp

honestly ruining strait E85 with Direct Injection motor ' is really not needed' i know people will disagree with that. i was running a E30 mix's over the summer but mini in the shop for the winter and am going to be putting a meth kit in, that way i can just run 91 '
what are you looking at doing>

Well right now it's a stock McShane. And soon I'm going to be getting basic mods exhaust, fmic, down pipe and a tune. I just Wana push as much power as I can before having to do motor work. This is my first mini so I'm learning as I go. What are some pro/cons to meth injection?

personally i don't think there is any Cons with meth ' Ever thing you would get with e85 your getting with meth' the only differences is / you don't have any of the headache of dealing with E85. If you really wanted to get technical ' I would argue meth gives you better intake temp's but then again it's kind of a never ending argument between them both,

What does a meth kit run? And I hate autocorrect. My last post was supposed to say "it's a stock MCS"

BigBoost that's damn pricy for a mini cooper water meth system...
I'm sure you can find one within $500...
I had a Meth system on my Audi TT and I should have kept it...but oh well..
I will be putting one on my mini as well...but repairs and replace comes first and that my friend never ends...
E85 few stations here in South Florida have it..but it's iffy if it makes any gains...or like someone said if the fuel pump can handle it..

Yeh it is very pricey for meth kit ' but worth every penny of it ' and yes you can find kits for under 600 bucks but you're only getting universal kits ' ThAt particular kit is designed for the r56' if you read into it a little bit more you understand it's built with straight performance intended' it reads your duty cycles / map' etc' it's worth every penny'

I have the Aquamist 3 and it a very intelligent system. I have customers that buy a $500 system, but end up spending way more because the cheaper system is lacking in so many options. mQubed Motorsport, Manic Tuning Dealer
