Looking at a 2011 countryman s all4

I've found a 2011 countryman s all4 with 75k miles, I can't look at it until Friday, but I was wondering what I should look out for before purchasing, I want it bad, but I have an 03 MCS with 138k miles and it's a challenge to say the least to own. I won't sell it. But I wish I had known what to look for before buying it...
Anyhoo...
I read about the timing chain tensioner and turbo oil line/coolant line but don't know where they are or what to look for, or what else
And I know I should get a jb4+ immediately!

Thank you

Spend the money on a pre purchase inspection from a qualified Mini mechanic. Get previous service history if you can.

One word. Clutch. If it's a manual. Also check all lights and turn signals, the Frm light modules can be a pain if they die. I'm getting one replaced under warranty right now.

It's an automatic. But that's the only thing I don't like about it....
It'll be hard to get it inspected by a mini garage here in Medford Oregon, but I'll look.
Good stuff, Keep them coming!

The 2011 is the first year with the N18 engine which is much improved over the N14. I have not heard of turbo oil line leaks or timing chain issues on the N18. Who are you buying it from? If the original owner, ask for maintenance records. Frequent oil changes are the key for these Mini engines, not the factory 15k mile intervals.

N18's are good, but see if you can find a mid 2012 or newer. The late model CM's have the second generation of the N18 motors.

That countryman is beautiful. This countryman is in my price range, good info though. So I can't go wrong if my pre-purchase inspection goes well. Seeing it tomorrow, super excited!

Look for a build date of June 2012 or later or look to make sure it has this style Bosch high pressure fuel pump

https://www.truecar.com/used-cars-for-sale/listing/WMWZC5C52BWL54568/2011-mini-cooper-countryman/

Here's the car, drove it today and drove a 2017 gti. Can't afford the gti but the countryman felt comparable. Now as you can see from the pictures, it's low, and will scrape the tires in the rear on a bump or pothole, how can I fix that? It must be springs only, shocks/struts look stock

It has a clear bra, how hard is it to remove those stripes? And the bra...

Exhaust is custom, cant tell what kind

has hood vents, one side looks good, other side is toast, who sells these?

Has Alta charge and outlet pipes, but no Cai?

Stock turbo

Has an auto with paddles, but it's not up on right/down on left but push down/pull up on either Side?

I'm getting a pretty purchase inspection at Johns auto (local mini shop in medford)on Tuesday. Hoping to have more info then

75k miles

13500 pricetag

Whatcha think.

Looks lowered to me. Make sure it has rear control arms and it is aligned. If not, it will eat through tires quickly...ask me how I know lol. After buying other peoples "modified," cars, I typically stay away. You can never account for someone else's "standards," when they choose to build, no matter how much they swear they care. Most cars I have gotten from a person who "built it themselves," had standards WAY below mine, and I had to handle plenty of issues after the fact. Just my two cents.

Also, I may be one of the few to steer you away from the JB+. I have it on mine, and frankly, for the cost, I don't see the worth. It drives somewhat better, but I wish I had read up more and got a Manic tune instead. Also, I am at 6600 feet so I have issues on its own with the air density.

Thanks for all the help, but it didn't work out, they didn't want to move on the price or fix the issues, so I walked. Stinks really...the car had cut springs to lower it, blown cv boot on the rear and 9 misfire codes stored, plus and immovable sales manager.

Blessing in disguise man. Just keep checking daily on true car and sites alike until you find something better.

If someone can't afford a few hundred bucks for a set of lowering springs, then you did the right thing to walk away. Even from you initial test drive description I wasn't convinced about the quality of the car.
