got this link off mini2, it's a petition to MINI, to instate the rear fog light feature here. Appearently the people who started it can't find any reason why we Americans/Canadians are not allowed to activate this feature. go link to it for more info, and then sign it!

Full toggle's for all!

As I stated there:

This is really more about safety than getting another toggle folks. Read some of the information regarding fog-related accidents in those threads on MINI2. Scary stuff. BMW and MINI USA should at least give us the option to use them by providing the means necessary to enable them.

also.. i 110% agree with M2G -- the rear fog lamps "toggle switch" is not the reason we want them installed... this is a saftey concern, not for looks

I do agree about it being a safety issue, although I have read that many people have a tendency to misuse thier rear foglights, and thought that maybe some people would be hesitant to sign the petition because of this concern. That is why I emphasized the sixth-toggle switch detail, as I thought it would get people excited, and encourage those hesitant to go ahead and sign anyway.
That being said, I fully trust that all of us mini-drivers, being as socially conscious and politically cool as we all seem to be, would be more than capable of useing the rear fog lights correctly. Let's be the ones to show the other drivers how it's done!

 

Ahhh.. I still say give us a full break light, not the half one that we have now...

Here! Here! Now, I wonder if we can try the same with the front fogs too? Although, there probably aren't enough of us MINI drivers to make a substantial impact.

Well, I've already done that mod for the meantime. I really like it too! The light cluster does seem off-balance and under-utilized without somehow using the upper bulb.

I just don't see why we can't have the rear fog option. It doesn't make sense. Give me options or.... give me options! I won't settle for anything less!
