Bought a Mini represented and titled as a 1985 but has an obvious 12 92 stamped on the inner aspect of the trunk latching mechanism. Not really bothered after discovering this since it's already been titled. It has a 1275 cc engine with a SU carburetor.
Can anyone tell me what the official "model name" this 1992 Mini is?

who know's if that's even the engine the car had originally??? You had me scratching my head with the gauge question as I thought all UK Minis had Smiths dials ......

 

No, later model cars went to the Japanese gauges, my 89 has them.....it may have been only the triple set.

 

well If Imported from UK than 1992 would be either a Mayfair, Rover cooper, picks will help give us a clue

 

There is an actual vin stamped on the car, it's on the cowl panel lip, close to where the right side windshield wiper arm is. the only way to see it is with a mirror, or you can take a pic with your cell phone. If you can get this vin the you can decode it....and see what model the car was built as, what engine it has originally and so on.
