Headlight auto level fail

My headlights wont auto level high enough, and the height adjusters are already max

They auto adjust down and grumble like they are trying to lower even more before they go up but not up enough

here's a vid showing the problem

I unhooked the level sensors and both of them do make the headlights move up and down, but no higher than they will auto level themselves, and it's too low.

any ideas? It's almost like they slipped on the threads inside whatever does the adjusting, both sides sound/operate identically

Are they face lift Xenons? If so, are the ball and sockets still connected inside the headlight housings? They can pop loose from big bumps, or from shutting the hood too hard.

All I can think of is that one of the rear level sensor are bad or maybe the bracket that holds them ?

Are the brackets bent and did you move the sensor by hand ?

You did this to the front sensor also? So you have to move the front one down and the rear one up to get to the max height.

yeah to both, I put the car up on the lift and unhooked them, verified they both work and independently raise/lower light

I tried maxing them both out in both directions, they wont adjust higher than the video, and when they auto adjust when powered up they make a grinding sound

verified the adjuster socket things are all connected. I gave up on a fix, cut some wood inserts into the high beam cover, they push up the headlights where they should be. They hold the light at a minimum height, and I can use the external adjusters to tweak

Auto level sucks anyway, only fast enough to be irritating
