i have just ordered a scan gauge 11 for the gen 3 mini as it has specific firmware for our cars.
the thing that sold it to me is that you can now monitor air fuel ratio which is handy if using a tune on the car,
this is what it can do

Engine Oil Temperature
Engine Oil Pressure
Fuel Tank Level (Gallons)
Fuel Temperature
Fuel Rail Pressure
Electric Fan Duty Cycle
Air to Fuel Ratio
Transmission Fluid Temperature 1 (Automatic Transmissions Only)
Transmission Fluid Temperature 2 (Automatic Transmissions Only)
Transmission Input Speed (Automatic Transmissions Only)
Transmission Output Speed (Automatic Transmissions Only)
Torque (Automatic Transmissions Only)

 

It can do all of that and more. I removed my SG II from my R56 before trading it and sent the gauge back to the manufacturer. They updated it with the Gen 3 programming at no charge. All it cost was postage to send it to them. Updates and return postage was covered by the manufacturer. Can't beat that for customer service.

I just called them and asked about the update. They provided the address to send it to and I stuck it in a USPS flat rate Priority Mail box (~$6). I got it back within a week and there was no charge for update or return postage. It would probably be quicker for you since they are in AZ. This is the second time I've updated this gauge. I bought it used originally and went through the same procedure to update it for my R56. Good people to deal with.

Can it measure coolant temp as well for F56 JCW?

 

Yes.

 

just take the BMW Performance Analyser, but i think its not sold in the US

 

Just ordered mine with CS mount for when new JCW arrives this week.

 

The scangauge is a great mod and we recommend it for everyone to have real gauges in their MINI.

Anyone have a recommendation for hiding the wire, or snaking it through the dashboard?

 

Once you have it mounted you'll see it's easier to do than to describe it.
