Swap R52 struts for R53's?

I have a spare set of OEM R53 front struts. Can I replace the 2007 R52's with my spare 2005 R53 struts or is there much difference between the two?

I have R53 SS+ ones on my R52 , the biggest thing is the rear spring are not weighted as much for the R52 heavy rear. I believe the rear on the r52 struts might have a softer rebound. And of course there are sport and NON sport versions. Puts them on see how it feels. If you dont like it get some Bilstein B4 shocks. Great shock for a good price.
