How often does this go bad and is there anything to do to prolong it's life?

 

I *think* mini has extended the warranty of this particular part to 10 years / 100K. Hopefully someone can confirm or call me crazy.

 

I have a 2011 r56s and they replaced mine a few weeks ago free of charge. Dropped my car off at 5:30 pm friday and it was ready for pick up by 10:30 am saturday.

I went up allot, here is the old thread. If we find another source aftermarket we will let you know. For now its just Genuine MINI. There a 3 versions over the N14- N18 engines, so check the year and month splits. More info on some people getting it covered under warranty and some not.

Prolong, dont let the gas run low to suck up very small particulates that get past the filter.

 

I had mine replaced a couple of months ago. I called the Mini dealer beforehand to double check that it would be covered

 

I just bought my 07 a few weeks ago (I've been wanting one since 2002). The pump has already been replaced under warranty by PO but I was just looking on eBay for shiny go fast bits and I saw the price. I had to do a double take.

 

seems other high pressure pumps are about 300,,,,,,
