.8 MPG Free!
I was looking at the cold air intake on my 2011 Countryman All4S and noticed the air had to come through the grill, take a 90 degree right and a 90 degree left before entering the intake. I work on sportbikes and direct air is a big goal for these bikes so I drilled some holes in the blocked off area in the grill and lo and behold! I have a very repeatable commute of almost 80 miles every day. Hauling *** on the freeway to work and stop/go half way home. My dash computer gave me 27.4MPG for about a 6 month average. I reset it when I drilled the holes and after 2500 miles of the exact same driving I am at 28.2MPG. It may even be better in the long run because I'm using the AC a lot now. The air filter looks like new still so I can't see any down side. I'll be trimming the rest of the grill out this weekend.

Yeah, I took a look at it today and there is no way it would hyrdo lock unless someone basically shot a hose up there. Maybe ill give this a try. Cant hurt.
Deciding which replacement air filter to get. Either an AFE dry filter or just a stock oem one
