Hi all,
new to this forum!
I have just gotten a 71 mini which had not run in approx 13ish years a few weeks ago, and now i've recently gotten it running again!

My next problem is that the tires are obviously bad, and are horribly flatspotted. I have pretty much been unable to find tires for the thing, i found a few on 7mini website but they all say "not DOT approved"

My mini came on 12 inch wheels and the tire size is 165/60/12.

What are you guys running on your cars?

 

I wouldn't worry about that DOT approval thing too much. At a car show a cop looked at my car and said, "those tires aren't DOT approved are they?"

He laughed and walked away .... I suspect he was a Mini fan and knew .... do you suspect ANYONE is gonna check the brand of tire you run!?!? My Cousin Vinny movie set aside!!

I've had my Mini for over 10 years, on "not approved" tires and occasionally drive on expressways .... no tire issues

Thanks. I ended up with Falkens from 7ent since they were a little cheaper.
I was worried about the DOT thing for no reason, as i'm pretty sure the entire car isnt DOT legal anyways.
