Help with tuning options for my modified R53 (Ohio)
Hello everyone,
I have had many minis, many modded minis, but never had any mini tuned before. I am in Cincinnati and have this mini I would like to be tuned so smoother and higher performance.
I've got an 06 R53 with 128K Supercharger replaced 2K ago by me so it's fresh with new valeo clutch.
15% reduction
2% crank
1 step colder iridium plugs
MSD ignition block/wires
custom CAI
free flowing larger exhaust (like the IE exhaust)
Street cam
Injectors/fuel pump are stock, everything is running healthy right now. No check engine lights ever, no belt slipping, no pinging. Full boost. Run on 91+ octane always.
I'd like to look into tuning options... I have most of the useful engine mods besides larger injectors. What are my options? I don't know or trust anyone locally to tune this unless someone here knows somebody. I see WMW and RMR both have tunes...WMW will do the canned tune if I send them my ECU... I am more looking for someone who can tune MY particular car in it's current health state.
I've got some extra money I'd like to use into making my setup work together better and squeezing any extra out of it. With my current setup, do you think tuning would be fairly beneficial? I generally shift around 3-3500..never go above 6000, I don't track the car, I just drive with a lot of vigor around town from 0-40.
Any tuners in southern Ohio/ Northern Kentucky/Indiana? I'll either meet you and pay you and buy you dinner/beer or if you come through Cincinnati, you can meet me , i'll pay you and buy you dinner/beers!

There's a way to get a custom tune remotely. I would guess you have to get the tuning module, set up a time with the dyno shop and RMW or WMW, then send dyno results and tune files back and forth until your car is tuned the way you want. I'm not sure how much more time, money, and headache is added to the process. Maybe Way can give the details, or someone else who's had it done can post their experience.
