R50/53 06 MCS 6sp LSD couple issues, some worse than others.
06 MCS 6sp LSD couple issues, some worse than others.
So my mini cooper rolled over 200,000 miles back in Novemer which is when I hit a deer, damn Wisconsin animals! Well it has been sitting for the last 6 months and I am going to be do some repairs to it. That have been a bit over do. Hoping to get some tips from anyone with experience. Damage from the dear is strictly cosmetic by the way. Other issues have been present for a while now. Here they are.
Cosmetic
Both side mirror's are busted
Hood is smashed in by the driver side light
Passanger Fog Light bracket broke, not sure if there is damage to the bumber where it attaches.
Dent in driver side door
Mechanical
Both CV Shafts have a leak but no clicking sound yet
Radiator leaks
ABS sensor failure
Fuel Leak Detection Pump Wiring Damage
Steering Angle Position Sensor fault
Clutch makes a pfft sound when engaging the clutch(more noticable at 1 & 2nd gear) and causes a slight vibration when engaging it as well.
Car is now burning oil like a mad man(worries me the most out of all of these). I am adding about a quart of oil every 1500-2000 miles. I have had the car looked over thoroughly for leaks and there are non anywhere.
I am planning on fixing a bunch of these things myself. Already done some repairs myself so far. I am worried that there may be some slight internal damage to the engine do to the oil issue. The car makes a ticking sound now which I thought might be some damage to the lifters from low oil. Is there anything I can do to try and eliminate this noise before going the route of replace engine parts or is the noise normal. (I have only had the car since 174000 miles). I love this car and want to make it last another 100,000 miles. Already swapped the springs, the alternator was replace, the bypass valve was replaced, and the serpentine belt was replaced as well. Is there anything maintenance wise I should try to do when I do the work on these other things? Also, I have no idea if or when the Super Charger had maintenance done and is there anything I can do to prolong the life of it?
Thanks for all your infinite wisdom fellow NAMers. This is by far the funnest car I have ever had and if I can get these things taken care of I may even mod the car a bit.

As far as the ticking noise goes, it is common on the r53 for the bushing that holds the drive belt tensioner piston in place to wear down. The bolt is accessible from the top with a 13mm wrench. If up pop the hood at idle you shoul be able to hold the piston and the ticking noise should stop. Be careful do this as you don't want to lose a finger to the drive belt monster. (It hurts like a *****). Anyway you should be able to fix that with just a universal o ring kit and some creativity. If it turns out that is not the case it is possible that you have a bad timing belt tensioner. This is located in nearly the same spot on the passenger side of the block. This is a cheap and easy fix. You can get it for about $30 and it takes 5 min to change. There are plenty of videos on YouTube on how to change that so I won't go in to to manny details. Shoot me an email if you have any questions
Thank you so much for the reply. If I can get some stuff fixed on the car, I will add that to the list. I was starting to think that no one was going to reply. I was actually starting to think I forgot to post this. Thanks again.
