I'm looking for the air intake for my 2013 mini cooper s (R58)

first choice myself : K&N 69-2023TS Air Intake (for R 58 cooper s 2011-2013)
and the other one is : ECS Tuning Kohlefaser Luft-Technik Intake System

Or, any suggestion?

Stock with new filter
OR
JCW Stage 1 box with Amsoil Dry filter

TIP: steer clear of oiled filters, messy and tend to give MAS airflow sensors premature failures.

If you want good performance, stick with OEM or JCW
If you want the blowoff noise, try the aftermarket with oiled filters. Just know the potential hazards with them

No reason for a cold air intake on these cars, there isn't any power gain, just noise, looks, and a reusable filter. Most systems will actually cause a loss of low end torque. So if you're looking for more noise or the looks of a cold air intake then any of them you choose will foot the bill, but if you are looking for a worthwhile mod for about the same cost as a quality intake then look into the Helix intercooler.

As stated, just stick with the stock airbox if you're looking for performance.

We have not seen a change in performance with intakes. It's a little hard to get real-world results on our dyno, since it's not in a wind tunnel, but it's pretty clear from those results and road datalogging that there's not much gain from one.

A good intercooler will significantly improve your performance. Helix has compiled a huge library of research on effective MINI intercooling. We have made several revisions to our design as we've learned more about what makes a good, versatile, cooler. Some, but not all of those elements have been copied by others.

Use the AEM Air Filter Wrap. So you have no problems during heavy rain.

I recently purchased an AEM CAI and a Craven Speed Bluetooth OBD2 reader from Helix. I installed the reader before even driving home. I downloaded the Torque app and headed home, the biggest surprise was my Air Intake Temp reading 60 degrees Celsius, ambient air temp was 90 degrees. I installed the Intake the next day and I noticed right away that my Mini had smoother throttle response and a little more power. But the best surprise was the drop in the Air Intake Temp went down from 60 to a max of 38 degrees Celsius even on the hottest days.

I agree with with Helix that it is hard to measure real world gains, I have tried multiple 0-60 runs with marginal gains at best. The biggest gain was actually the decrease in Air Intake Temp. I believe the reading is after the Intercooler and Turbo, a larger volume Intercooler could only help reduce the actual air temperature entering the combustion chamber.

When considering a CAI take a step back in time before Turbo's, most true Muscle Cars had a Ram Air System to get a cooler air charge. Now take a look at your hood scope, it's pretty much useless in it's stock form. Look at the CAI systems on the market, how many actually take advantage of the hood scoop', not many. How can you call it a CAI when you're pulling air from the hot engine compartment. Once the colder air hits the turbo it will heat up again slightly, due to the exhaust gases powering the Turbo. Then the Intercooler does it's job, so a larger volume and smoother air flow Intercooler will be extremely beneficial.

My next major purchase will be a Helix Intercooler and then I will move on to exhaust mods.
