So, I replaced my halogen headlights with the OEM Xenon...

After the issues I had after replacing my halogen headlights with OEM xenon, I fill that it is necessary to post this...

After replacing my OEM headlights with the OEM Xenon (black housing) headlights, I got my vehicle programmed. After doing this, Mini contacted me and let me know that the OEM Xenon headlights would not work with my vehicle. Mini said it was because when they built the vehicles, they use 2 different wiring harnesses (for halogen and xenon headlamps) and that's why they have the retro fit kits...It cost me $1200 for the kit...

FYI, I'll be posting a OEM Xenon headlamp in the for sale section...

PLEASE KEEP THIS IS MIND IF ANY OF YOU DECIDE TO TRY AND REPLACE THE HEADLAMPS.

I switched out my halogen with the AHL. Xenon and just moved a couple of wires around and added resistors. Only issue is a have a bulb out warning because of the highbeams. I I haven't had time to work that out but both my high and low beam works fine. To get the full AHL working you will need to switch out the FRM becaus that and 2 leveling sensors are needed to turn the lights when the steering wheel moves.

Initially had OEM non-retrofit headlights, but now I have the retrofit. They look really good!

Ok, just wanted to make sure you had no issue with the Retrofit kit ones. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-the-fact.html

Those look good and big improvement when you see at night over halogens.

Yea the non retrofit xenons ones are not wired to do the non xenon harness. MINI always has to make things harder.

Nope. :D

It works awesome! I didn't even have to adjust the headlights after installing them; got them adjusted just right when bolting down the first time.

They definitely like to make things harder...Thanks Mini.
