These Bavsound stage one speakers have been released at $247 for plug and play front speakers, not a bad price. I had a set of Bavsound stage 1 speakers and subwoofer on my e46 and they sounded great -- though the system really needed the sub to round out the sound.

Has anyone tried these yet?

I have all Bavsound except the underseat woofers. They are good, but the best upgrade is how you are supplying the music to the system. If I use the line out jack from my high resolution MP3 player it sounds far better than the speaker upgrade. Especially noticeable in the bass parts of the music.

 

What system in which car did you replace these with? I have an r56 with the HK and the bass is awful. trying to do something to eliminate the muddy, boominess without replacing the entire system with IA.

I upgraded my F56. I finally bought the underseat Bavsound woofers as well and also changed to a JLaudio 600 amp. I can turn up the bass way past what I need. I usually have to tone it down a bit.

 

nice, hoping there's a cheaper solution to the muddy base. mine is currently turned down to -10...
