Wait for the GP if you don't want the rear seat.

Are they making an F series GP? They haven't made a GP in awhile right? I've never seen one. What is where the back seat was, just a big boot? Is there a partition behind the driver's seats with speakers like the Coupe? Sorry for so many questions but I'm interested.

They are basically a designed track car, gray and red with more horsepower/torque and a sway/stability bar across the interior of the car where the back seat would normally be. There is more, but this is sort of the basic differences that are readily noticeable. Also, there is limited production. It was not a totally dedicated track car like the Challenge 210.

OK thanks. There's GP forum for the G2 cars somewhere I've seen, maybe sticky thread under the JCW forum.

Here is a link to a mini challenge race that has 2 GPs in it. They are the R series 2013 GPs, but it is fun to watch.

If it's like the first two generations, the F56 GP will be made in the last year of 3rd Gen production.

MINI has launched 2 versions of the GP yet, this always happens more or less at the end of the life circle, so you have to wait for an GP based on F56.

The swaybar in the boot section, is a luggage protection device, but it looks certainly sporty.

The removal of rear seats, and some other weight reductions (missing rear wiper) make the car lighter compared to the normal JCW. Hover the save on F56 weight is not such easy as R56, as all parts are ex factory very well designed and quite light !

Actually the bar is a shock tower brace. I had one in my R56. I guess you could tie your luggage to it though.

I have one as well in my GP2, shock tower brace sounds dramatic, it reads in a Mini flyer as luggage protection.

Keeping the really good stuff at home! However, the JCW is plenty of fun for me and is more than adequate for twisty, traveling fun. Just a few tweaks and a few dollars and it is truly marvelous. It's not perfect, but then neither am I!
