coolant drains from tank

My 2002MCS with 225M miles overheated today. I got home with a hot engine and smelled "rubber". Now I can't fill the tank. Coolant leaks out quickly at the rear of the engine under the tank but not where the hose leaves the tank.
On closer examination the T connector has failed (realoem part # 17127518614) narrow tube
Hopefully I can find it at the dealer tomorrow
In stock for $10.50
tight fit but done and done
time to get the coolant back to 50-50.
Must I use "Blue coolant"?

We have the 3 way water hose connector HERE as well. May be a good idea to check over other plastic components and maybe do a coolant flush if you haven't in a while. The cooling system is often neglected in these MINI's. Don't forget to fill with MINI blue coolant 50/50 mixture with distilled water.

I use the blue coolant and I don't really know tons about the different coolants so take my opinion for what it's worth. I avoid mixing different coolants but I did use green coolant that said it was good for all makes for a few years after doing a flush with distilled water.

The green coolant worked fine in that car but now I use the mini/bmw stuff it's not super cheap but $20 for a gallon every few years isn't too bad.
