I just heard one of my cube neighbors at work say that his brand new 350Z
just got hit while he was inside the local mall. He's only had it two weeks and
the person did $700 worth of damage and just left. I couldn't imagine
what I would be feeling if MINI Me got that treatment.

That is just disgusting....I can't believe someone would just smash up someone's nice new car and then leave without any regard for that person at all......this same type of thing happened to my roommate's car in our parking lot at home. They totally tore up the whole driver's side of her car and didn't even leave so much as a note....she just went out in the morning to go to work and saw what had happened.

People that do that are destined to be victims of bad karma (or car-ma as the case may be)

That's why I try to park away from the crowed areas. But for some unforseen reason after I come back out there are cars all around my MINI. Gee do you think it is the car? And why do they have to park so close. It seems I am cleaning alot of the baby foot prints from the glass. They are cupping their hands and pressing them to the glass to look in, leaving the marks of baby foot prints. OH the price we pay for a fun car.

....

Hey dpilgrim

I think you just caused nightmares for all of us...

FYI, Insurance advice:
I recently lowered my deductibles on my car insurance. Before my MINI, I was one of those people who kept high ($500) deductibles to save on the insurance payments(premiums).
But I found out that it doesn't cost a lot more for lower deductibles. And you can lower the 'comprehensive' deductible all the way down to $0. This is the one that covers all non-moving accidents (falling trees, vandalism, etc). A friend who had lightning strike his car gave me this advice.. When I told my insurance agent I wanted to go to $0 on the comprehensive, she confided she had done the same for her car.
anyway, that's my two cents, and No I don't sell insurance.

My wife has offically put her foot down with a "No Murdering" rule in case someone hits my MINI... I tried to fight her on it, but alas, she's the wife...

As much as it would be a realy bummer to lose a MINI to an accident, as long as it gives up its life to protect mine I will be thankful that BMW will make another one to replace it.

Yeah! I always park far away from everyone in parking lots yet when I come out, my car is surrounded by other cars!!! Unbelievable!

At least the MINI is small so no one really gets THAT close (usually).

Some ingrate gave me a nice door ding not too long ago. Thankfully it's just a ding and no paint damage, so it can be repaired by a paintless dent removal dude. But, gee...thanks for the $50 ding you #@$*!!!!

My wife is especially worried about what will happen if (when) she smacks up our MCS.

I had some jackass in an extended panel van park so close and at such an angle he had me boxed into my spot.
I could see him thru the window of the store I was in and ran out to give some stern words about his lack of parking skill.
He quickly jumped back in his van and parked all the way on the other side of the lot. Hahaha.
Maybe he'll try a little harder to park correctly after having the shitake mushrooms scared out of him.

I bought a new Alfa Romeo once and parked it 100 yards away from any other cars. When I returned there was a shopping cart that had been whacked into the back of my new car. There were still no other cars around. I hope that the guy who did it had ***** that turned into stars and festered at the points.

And SirRon... that's why i won't park totally away from everyone, but I will pick and choose who I park next to... I'll let the other cars act as barriers for that sort of thing...

Heh, there's probably someone on a Corvette forum complaing that even though he parks away from everyone, he always comes back to find his car surrounded by MINI's thanks to RBX! (Actually I do exactly the same!)

I park my car as far away from the store as possible, an end spot, protected by a parking lot island is the best, if you park close enough, it leaves a wide buffer between the driver's door and the space next to it, but windy days and shopping carts scare me
