Casper and Friends Ghostly October Drive
Casper and Friends Ghostly October Drive
Come along with Casper on a night-time ghostly drive.
Saturday October 30
Updated information as of October 13:
Folks, here is the latest information on this drive. I will be keeping a list of confirmed participants on the first post of this thread.
Let's get spooky and scary with our MINIs.
Let's dress 'em up (and ourselves, maybe?) for Halloween.
Let's drive off into the darkness and listen to music that sets a spooky tone.
Let's have some more MINI fun on October 30.

Meet up with other brave souls for a dark and spooky and fun drive. We will be searching for haints, booghers and the Wampus Cat in and around the foothills of the Smokies. We will parade through downtown Gatlinburg also. Start point will be the Greenbrier Restaurant in Gatlinburg which has it's own ghost. An RSVP is very important on this drive for several reasons. The restaurant needs a count to be prepared and a music CD will be provided for each car to enhance your journey into the darkness. You must let me know you wish to participate by Wednesday, October 20. Anyone wishing to do the drive only with no dinner is welcome to do so. Please let me know by the above date to be sure a CD will be available for your haunting pleasure.
Date: October 30, 2004
Meeting Point: Greenbrier Restaurant Gatlinburg at 4:30
Departure time: 5:45 to 6:00PM
Additional drive info: This will NOT be a speed drive. Some of the roads we will be on are VERY narrow and curvy. Safe and spooky fun will the focus for this drive.
Confirmed participants:
queenB & hotelcalif + 5
Tjockey + 1
Minigma + 3
Kelly + ?
David B + Sarah
Bill & Katherine +1
Susan & Al
Total - 21
Casper has a head start, but you can decorate your MINI,
and yourself too, for added halloween fun.

Wwweeelllll now. I have actually discovered a restaurant in Gatlinburg that is haunted.

The historic Greenbrier Restaurant is a log cabin built in 1939 as a lodge. It is haunted by the ghost of young Lydia who took her own life at the lodge in anger and frustration at being jilted on her wedding day. Her spirit still roams the second floor landing. Guests claim to have seen her sad figure or felt a chilling presence.
I am feeling a shift in this event. Maybe start the drive a little later and end up for dinner later at the Greenbrier. They have private dining rooms for up to 30 in the orginal log structure. I am going to check and see if one is available for Oct. 30. It would probably be helpful if those who plan to participate will let me know so I can start getting a count.
Here is a link to the menu:

Please feel free to give any feedback regarding this event. If you have a preference for the original plan let me know that too.

Just a reminder!! One week to the RSVP deadline for this drive. The music is almost ready. Fun stuff for the main roads and really scary music for the desolate back roads.

Hey all,
We had a hysterical good time on Casper's haunted drive. We may make it an annual event. Read the wrap up on SMM web site.

Here are a couple of pics.
The Great Pumpkin was floating around on this classic. When we got off into the DARK it looked like a flying pumpkin.

Spiders and skulls!! Most cars were decorated and some people too!

Stuck in the sixties!

Wooooo! I can't wait! Halloween was always my favorite holiday next to the two biggies.
