Project Toothless

Well - here it goes, BUT FIRST, some background.

Here is one old my old MINIs. Mister pepper. (he's pepper white..)

Engine mods;
17% pulley
550cc injectors
Megan racing intake
Invidia catback
tuned by Jan @ RMW when i was at helix's yearly RMW tuning event
made like 205whp and some torque, not sure how much torque, i forgot.

Interior mods;
SCHROTH quickfit harnesses

Exterior mods;
eBay style grilles
Cravenspeed license plate holder
4 Hella 700FF's
Contiental DWS tires on the stock s-Lites

Then, this happened.

January 15th, 2016.

Hydroplanned, doing 60 in a 55. Got charged 6 points and 220 dollars for being in a single car accident with myself and a concrete median. The instant I got into the accident I knew it was totaled (1.5yrs of body shop experience, now I am a mechanic at Land Rover / Jaguar.)

Took Statefarm a MONTH to tell me the car is totaled, with me calling every other day. On the plus side, I got 3,100 more for the car than I paid for it a year ago. I bought the old car back, and I am fixing it to give it to my father as it sits since he loves the car.

Now, onto the REAL "Project Toothless"

When I first went to look at it

When I first got it home

When I did the first detail on it. Just cleaned and clayed. Not even waxed.

Now, before I even had the car home I had a WMW pulley ordered. 17%, spark plugs, and the belt. Now I have an Alta intake on order.

Here is the old pulley.

For now, that's all. I'll be back with more when I am going for it.

Also, this car was in an accident in the driver side quarter panel. I used to work in a body shop so I realized the damage pretty quickly. I will post in this thread a link to how to spot some body damage.

Also, some of you remember me from my LED light bar thread. I will be doing this to this car. Look forward to it fellas.

Toothless, like from How To Train Your Dragon? Love it! Looks like those are maybe Sparco TERRA wheels? Looks really good on the MINI.

(sorry for doublepost cant quote two posts on mobile)

yeah - the plan is when i do my projector retrofit make the projectors light up similar to the dragons eyes. i had another name for it but i forgot it. i kind of thought of toothless when i first saw it so im being a copy cat and stealing the name toothless!

also i am not sure what wheels these are. theyre sparco and on the inside have something about O.Z wheels.. like designed by O.Z? not sure but i like em!

OZ and Sparco teamed up, so it looks like it could be those wheels. Very common for off-road type racing wheels: http://www.ozracing.com/wheels/sparco/terra

Toothless is a great name. So are the projectors going to light up green in some way? Very excited to see how this turns out.

I have alot of retrofits under my belt. I have a set of Morimoto D2S 3.0s to swap in. 55w ballasts, bixenon function, osram nightbreakers. Morimoto makes a LED module that screws right into the D2S housing that is a RGB LED. You can change it to any color you want with a bluetooth remote.

Just got home from work.

A package from Wayland and theretrofitsource has arrived. I got new lead wires since I had a misfire when I swapped to a colder plug for the pulley (now fixed) also I got some stickers.

I ordered some new projector shrouds from TRS. however these are HUGE. some serious cutting will be needed. Might attempt it, might just leave them for another retrofit and find some different shrouds. So far I have tried the E46, E46-extended, Apollo 3, and the E55-r. All are way too big for this retrofit. Might just cave and buy some mini gatlings..

I have a set of smoked rear arch lights from Wayland that was going to go onto my last car. Those will be going on soon.

Also, hes all sticker'd up now!

I need to redo the Morimoto one.. I have another gray, a white, and now a bronze.. which one do you guys think?

I'm partial to white decals myself. Makes more sense for a decal for the lights to be white in my mind as well

Hope so so I can rip out my Rupes D.A and give this paint a compound and polish, get out 99% of the imperfections, get the front bumper repaired and repainted so I can move the front plate and not feel guilty. ^^

Yea, I hear you.

I cleaned both my MINI s a couple days aao, but they all need hit with Chemical Guys DA and Polish, I have so fine compound 3M polish left over with a dimple pad. Might do that first, But I have to clay it all first and clean the paint. Dang junk on the roads like tar and oil.

You will not believe how smooth the paint is after clay,
