2016 F56 JCW Order placed last night! First Mini!

Super stoked for my first Mini, now I just have to wait the 6-8 weeks for delivery. Hoping for sooner...expecting longer.
  • 2016 JCW F56
  • Midnight Black w/ Chili Red Roof
  • 17" Black Wheels /w all season tires
  • Cold Weather
  • Premium Pack
  • Wired and Wired Upgrade (with driving assistant, not park assist)
  • Rear Fog
  • LED with cornering lights
  • Auto Dimming and Powerfold mirrors
  • Sunroof
  • Roof Rails
  • Sport seat with Leather Dinamica Red
  • Glowing Red color line
  • Black checkered dash
  • Mini Excitement page
  • 6-Speed Auto - wife cant drive manual :(
  • Dynamic Damper Control
  • Sirius and Alarm System
  • All Weather Floor Mats

Needless to say, I am super excited! Keeping my Tacoma...but parking will be a whole lot easier in the city in about 10 weeks. Greatly considered Golf GTI and R...but had to go Mini, love the customization that you can do. Motor On!!!!

Nice car. Your first Mini will be a bunch nicer than my first one. The automatic is pretty sweet, I wouldn't go back to a manual.

Congratulations Brandon! Nice build you have there!

Now for the wait! Get your detailing equipment up to snuff in the meantime.....I'd recommend detailing it yourself or have a professional do it, especially with black! :-)

Good Luck,

John

Welcome to NAM, congrats on your JCW Order! Excellent color combo if I may say so, that's what I have.

Definitely be sure to check out the "tracking youf MINI" thread, I think it's still in the 1st gear sub-forum.

Congrats, it's going to look like the (opposite color) clone of mine . And pretty much the same option package. My '16 JCW listed for $43500, and yours? I had some un-neaded options though such as the very expensive 'parking assistant'. I figured it was already so expensive, why not ???

Mine was configured for $44,616 online and I got it out the door for $42900. So I am pretty happy about that.

Congrats on your First Mini! I'm on my 6th! Started with a 2008 Cooper S, dumb and traded it in on a 2009 G8 GT, then traded that in on a 2010 cooper S, modded the heck out of it, bought and restored a 1978 New Zealand Leyland 998 mini, then traded the 2010 S for a 2014 cooper S, rolled my 1978 and brought a 1989 Mini 998 over from the UK and then traded the Classic and the 2014 S in on my 2015 JCW!

The weather here is bad as well and more on the way tomorrow and Monday. I was hoping to have it installed on Thursday weather permitting. I am waiting for better weather for the new shoes for the mini as well. I am going to try the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. We did have the mini out for a short spin yesterday, but not today or most likely not again until Tuesday. Gearing up for the MOTD in May.

MOTD sounds awesome....never been! Of course I've never had a MINI before. I'm used to BMW 2002 gatherings (similar I'd think).

The NC mountains have marvelous twisties, but then most mountains do. This is a well-planned, highly organized event. The Tarheel Club has events throughout most of the year with routes for everyone. Dependent upon what driving style and interests the participants have. Good ride leaders and sweepers, everyone must have radios for safety. Check out their website when you have the time. There is the club website and one dedicated to the MOTD.

I don't understand power fold mirrors. If you pull in a place that is so tight you need to fold them, how d you open your doors?

Actually they work when entering a garage where you want to hug the edge of the door opening especially when another car shares the garage. Once you clear the door edge, there is generally space enough to open car doors.

OP, great car and choices. I like the DDC option. Being able to soften the ride in sport mode is very nice and great for everyday use. Best of luck with your ride

I am in the DC area, so I configured a build and sent it to 5 dealerships from Annapolis to Richmond VA. Ended up ordering from Richmond VA. I have heard of people even going to multiple states to let dealers bid for lowest price.

We just returned from having the PRO exhaust installed and having a lot of fantastic runs on legendary twisty roads and the mini performed flawlessly and sounded great! As soon as Chris sends me the pictures he took of the installation of the PRO exhaust I will post them. The only vehicles that surpassed us on the TOD were the ninja bikes and they are crazy fast and seem bent on exiting the gene pool! New shoes are a must for the mini as the runflats really don't handle that well at high speed in tight turns although they weren't terrible. Michelin Pilot Super Sports are on order and will be on the mini before the next trip to the Tail!

I see you got floor mats, are they the JCW ones? Those and the Red color line really make the interior pop. I think adding the color line was one of my best decisions when ordering (only wish is that the JCW was available when I bought my car)

The waiting is tough but the payoff when it finally arrives is nice

I have lived in Frankfort for most of my life, so most likely we were sort of neighbors. Where do you live now?

Are you going to take it to the MOTD? A couple of modifications will turn it into a beastie and totally transform its performance!
