I know this thread is pretty inactive but I was invited to this awesome event out in the Black Hills and wanted to share it with anyone in the area who might be interested in going.

2nd annual Mini Rush-More trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota this coming spring. Home to Mount Rushmore, Deadwood, and Sturgis. We are planning on a 3 day 2 night overnighter run to Keystone, SD in the Black hills 28, 29, 30th of May 2016, so save the dates.

We have a run setup on Iron Mountain road. 314 CURVES, 14 SWITCHBACKS, 3 PIGTAILS, 3 TUNNELS, 4 PRESIDENTS, 2 SPLITS in 17 MILES, with another run on Needles Highway. Some of the attractions, Mount Rushmore, 1880s Train, Casinos, Great Drives, Great food, Great Scenery. For comparison Tail of the Dragon is 318 curves in 11 miles.

The hotel will be $170ish for the weekend (average $85.00 a night) that is half the cost as last year. You can also make your own arrangements, but generally the prices will be pretty close, as this is a tourist destination. We will be staying in a different town with different hotels this year. Not quite as fancy, but closer to the action.

Rates are $69.95 (1-2 people) and $79.95 (2-4 people) + a $15 resort fee. This is about 1/2 the price as last year.

Another hotel that is 100 yds away is Holiday Inn Express & Suites 605-666-4925. They would not work with us, so we don't have any special rates or reserved rooms.

President's View Mt. Rushmore hotel is close by.... Don't go there.

Another hotel that is a few blocks away is Econo Lodge Near Mt. Rushmore Memorial. 605-666-4417. I have no information good or bad on this hotel. It doesn't look bad, but it is "econo".

In Hill City, about 15 min, away is Best Western Golden Spike Inn & Suites.
