After finding a few pictures of some R53's with leather wrapped dashes, I've gotta have one! I found a cover that's too cheap not to try, but first I wanted to see if anyone knows if/how it would interfere with the passenger side airbag on an '05-'06 MC with the 3 piece dash.
I can't find any pictures of how that airbag deploys... I don't know if I would or even could have to modify the cover in a way where it wouldn't interfere with the airbag, the guys over at redline goods weren't sure how it would work either since their Cooper has the 5-piece dash, but they smartly told me I should find an answer to this question before trying to cover the dash.
Here's the cover I found and a sample similar to what I'm looking to do
The linked one is only for pre facelift, 5 piece dash.
The facelift, 3 piece dash is very different.
I suggest you do NOT put a leather cover over a facelift 3 piece dash as it will seriously effect the deployment performance of the passenger airbag system.
The pre facelift passenger airbag deploys out horizontally from behind the 2nd piece of the IP.
The facelift passenger airbag deploys vertically through the top of the IP.
Cheers

Do you mean the picture or the product link? The product link says 2001-06, did the physical shape of the dash change after '04 or was it just the location of the airbag?
By IP do you mean the top piece (the one I want to cover) itself? So it bursts a hole through that when the bag deploys?
Just trying to figure out if there's any possible way to do this, seems as though there isn't though
