Best bang for the buck snow tires/wheel package?

2013 Justa 4 lug 15" wheels.

Looking for bare bones steel wheel with 175 or 185/65R15 snow tires.

Tire Rack's cheapest (with $111.00 shipping) is >$800 with TPMS installed.

I'd like to get a set of snows for the few times we get substantial snow here but can't justify that kind of coin. Anybody know of a cheaper place?

You don't need the sensors with non-runflat tires.
16" black steel wheel $49
195/60-16 Blizzak WS80 $92.10

Thanks for the reply. Without the sensors won't my TPMS warning light be on all the time?

If true that I don't need TPMS,

Amazon has 15" steelies for $45 each free shipping
Discount Tire has General Altimax Arctics 185/65R15 for $73 each free shipping

The free shipping is key. Shipping costs for these heavy items are ridiculous.

The light in the speedo will remain on. It hasn't bothered me in five years.

Shipping cost depends on how far you are from the warehouse. Free mount and balance at TireRack is worth more to me. (Can't do 15" on an S.)

I'll have to decide if the warning light will bother me LOL.

Have a bud with a tire machine so we can put tires on rims ourselves and just pay for balancing...

Mine is a Justa and currently has 15"

Thanks again

In that case I would do the Pirelli Winter Snowcontrol Serie 3 175/65R15 84H $212.40 after rebate. $49.25 shipping to 20186. Better tire and narrower to cut through the snow more easily.

TireRack.com (just a fan)

And of course there is the used marketplace here if you haven't looked.

Cool, that's the same price as the Generals with free shipping. I'll look into it.

The Altimax Arctics are a durable snow tire. Plus they're pretty quiet for a snow tire. I've used them and know several people that use and like their snow performance as well. The Pirelli Snowcontrol can't be a bad tire, I've used the Pirelli Winter Carving snow tires and found them to have excellent grip in the snow, although they were slightly less quiet than the Altimax Arctics on bare pavement.

I've been using the Altimax Arctics for the last 6 years or so. I think they are very effective, long lasting, and a good value.

That's what I ended up getting.
Discount Tire matched the Amazon steelie price of $45.
So a set of 4 with 185/65/15 Altimax Arctics mounted balanced and shipped for $440.00.
Skipped the TPMS just gonna live with the light for a few months.

Good choice. Give those 4 tires a look-see when you go out to drive your car, only takes an instant and you won't miss TPMS. Also, check the tire pressure every month at least, especially if the temperatures are varying a lot. I do tire pressure checks every 2 weeks.
