Replaced burned bulb, still getting indicator

Hi all!

I'm new here. I just picked up my first Mini on Thursday, loving it so far!

Have to get a new TPMS sensor installed to get the light to go out. and now I have a "exterior light failure" indicatory, even after replacing the burned out turn signal side repeater. It lights up and works, but the light out indicator is still on. There aren't any other lights out.

Is there a way to reset the light indicator?

Thanks,

Are you SURE you don't have another burned out light somewhere? Lots of threads on this subject, Mini has some lights in odd places (ie on the bottom side of the doors)..

Yeah, both puddle lamps, front + rear turn signals, brake lights, reverse lights, DRLs, foglights, left and right side repeaters (i just replaced the right side repeater), both front and rear side markers, both license plate lights are all working fine.

The only one I can think of that I just thought of would be the rear fog light, but I don't even know if this car is outfitted with that. I guess there's only one way to find out lol

I’m getting this error code and it is a bulb in the right tail light. I’ve replaced the bulb, twice. The contacts looks shiny silver and clean. The light out code is good for a day or two and then comes back on. I’ve used contact cleaner and bulb grease but they don’t seem to help.

Any ideas?

I am not sure if the warning light illuminates for interior bulbs, but if so maybe it's one of those? Besides the usual cabin lights, there are lights in footwell and cargo area. Just a thought...

I use a Foxwell scanner. It tells me exactly which bulb is the problem.

I get an error about left upper brake light now and then. I removed the assembly and see the way the contact lines are not the greatest design. Sometimes just smacking the assembly works, but I would say reach in and twist the bulb left and then right to restore. Clear the stored code with Bimmercode.

I removed the bulb holder and noticed that the shiny silver contact was slightly burnt away. How curious. I filed it smooth and bent it slightly to increase contact pressure.

The bulb light has finally gone out. Hooray!!
