How long to cool before plugs?

Hey guys I have a quick question. I've heard before you do plugs on a mini, you should not run it for 24 hours just to be sure it's cold. Is this true?

If you want to be 100% sure. Otherwise it cools down after a couple hours unless you were tracking all day or something , still after that its should cool down after a couple hours.

You can also remove the coil packs to help it cool a little quicker.
