New R56 s owner!!! Mods?

Hey whats up guys, I am a new owner of a chilli red R56 n14 6 speed. This is my second car, and so far im loooovvvvinnngggg it! However I am getting the mod bug for it... Im going to get some rims and was wondering what some of your suggestions are. I like the xxr 530 rims I just wish they had silver. For the mods, I am looking at getting a tune as soon as the warranty(thank god for having it due to timing chain) I have on it is up, I just don't know what one to be looking for. Thanks!

I would suggest cold air intake, exhaust, maybe a better turbo if you want to go that far

Careful what you do. Don't go out of the norm.
Manic is your best tune. For reliability, DONT DO WHAT I DID !!
Best turbo, Owens but it's gonna cost ya
Jcw exhaust manifold
AR Downpipe
Cold air intake like an AEM
Wagner competition intercooler.
NOW STOP !!
Anything more than that and it'll require a custom tune. It takes time to get. You get what's on the list and It will be fast.

Welcome there is so much you can do. For wheels pick what you like, we offer several brands like NM and Enkei.

Now for engine mods there are several small mods you can start with that you will like and not break the bank.
first the noise maker delete, it will eliminate the noise maker and helps with throttle response, but it's cheap too.

then the torque arm bushing reduces engine rock and just improves the drive, again cheap but effective.

Then you can go to a forge intercooler and an ECU tune. This will be a basic street car with the best bang for the buck mods you can do.

A lot of people with turbo cars start off with those mods: tune, exhaust/down pipe, and intake. I'll probably have to start with intake. I know there are several brands out there that make intakes i.e. Alta, k&n, nm .... I'll have to find which one is best. As far as the turbo goes I probably won't change that till the stock one goes just because of price (I'm a college student working 2 jobs). I know that if you do some physical mods that you typically have to tune your car to those mods right?

Correct, without a tune those mods are just holes in your pocket. These days you gotta tune along with the mods to take advantage, the stock turbo is good enough even for a Manic Stage 2+ Tune! The target for that tune is 20 psi, just with the tune and no mods you'll be very surprised at how fast your mini will be, more that the car can handle with some suspension mods like coil-overs.

Okay, I went to the maniac website and did some looking. To me it sounds like the tune works pretty much like the Accessport does. You plug it into the obd port and it'll do the work from there. The only thing is that there are three modes you can pick from on a switch. How do you get this tune? Can you buy it from thier website or do you have to go to one of the dealers?

As far as handling mods go.... This car is crazy when it comes to handling. It feels like I can take turns 50mph faster than in my first car (Mercedes c230 coupe 1.8 supercharged). After some time I might do coils and sway bar but for now I'm going to stick with a good set of tires

You must got to or mail your ECU to a Manic dealer because your ECU has to be reprogrammed/re-flashed.
