PIAA Halogen bulbs............

Anybody has tried the PIAA Extreme White bulbs as replacement to the OEM?

It seems there maybe also a replacement for the fogs.

They are decent. Brighter than OEM but I wouldn't say they are "white," as they are advertised. I've had these on a previous car, lasted over a year. Silverstars look similar and cost almost half but also don't last nearly as long. I tried an LED bulb from OPT7, the color was nice but the glare from being in a halogen housing was a no-go, and they were not DOT legal, had to return them. For the fog and parking lights I highly recommend JDM ASTAR extremely bright error-free W5W LED (parking lights) & JDM ASTAR 1200 lumens extremely bright H8 LED (fogs.) You will need the JDM ASTAR 50W H8 LED load resistors for the fog LED's so you won't throw any codes. All can be had for $55 from Amazon and installed in 20 minutes. No codes, they do flicker for about 5 seconds when the car is first started but the brightness and color is worth it. They are definitely white. They don't match the PIAA halogen bulbs that well but still look cool. I would imagine anyone with the factory xenon bulbs, this would be a pretty good match. I bought my MCS used but I hate that I don't have xenon's. Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply and very valuable information.

A few months ago, the dealer replaced both headlights, I am not sure how they would tolerate more heat from stronger bulbs without melting.

Since the car is still under warranty until 08/17, I don't want to mess up with an upgrade Mini would complain about not being OEM.

For now, They saw the JB+ chip at the first service last August but didn't seem to be concerned.

These reflectors may be a few thousands bucks to replace if they melt again as they have done at the bottom.
