19% pulley belt stretch

How much belt stretch is allowable with the NAPA 060535? I have only run less than 1000 miles on the belt but I already can't see the last hole on the tensioner stop. I am a bit worried because the twist on the stop has already broken off, which means if my belt breaks it's going to hit the crank pulley and do a lot of damage.

darn good question.
i'm at 5000 mi with my 535 and can't see the last hole either.

Does the 539 solve this problem?? or the blown belt problem???

thanks in advance.

I've gone through 3 belts now, but none of them have broken, just stretched. My next one is going on this weekend when I do an oil change (25k on my '03 already!) I got a JCW belt from the dealer, 11-28-0-300-802. It is marked "Gates 6PK 1374".

Belt Replacement How to

I can find Randy's pulley install page. I have Helix's 19% pulley installed. I have a spare belt loaded and I can get a tension tool. How much of the process of installing the pulley can be skipped to replace the belt. Just looking, there isn't a ton of room to work. But you knew that. I watched Eric work, but it is a bit different since he moved the engine up. I am thinking in terms of a roadside replacement of the belt.

The shop I had the plleu installed broke it off unintentionally. So should I change my belt or not? What do you guys suggest, I still have one more spare belt in hand anyways. But I was just thinking how short lived my first belt was.

Chilibet:
It's easy to change the belt, and you don't have to jack the engine up. All you have to do is remove the front right tire and the plastic wheel well. You'll be able to see all the pulleys from there. If you have the belt tensioner tool then it would be very easy.

I'm sorry, do you run a 19%?

I've used both the 15% and 19%. The 19% did not appear to cause my belts to wear any differently than the 15%.
