90 degree BTDC cylinder 1 or 2 question

Good evening folks. I have the cylinders at 90 degrees BTDC (all cylinders are at the same height), but I was wondering if the cams are timed off cylinder 1 (closest to passenger side) moving towards TDC or cylinder 2? Since they are moving in opposite directions, I would think the timing is based off one or the other. Just wanted to make sure everything is lined up. Thanks y'all. This site has been fantastic.

The phrase "90 degrees BTDC" should be self-explanatory --- BEFORE top dead center! Since the pistons can be all at the same height twice for each cam full revolution, you gotta do the cam timing with all the proper tools. And, when using these tools, it doesn't really make any difference which cylinder is being referenced. However, if #2 is moving down, it for sure isn't approaching TDC, therefore it must be based on cylinder #1.
