Did I do this? I must have done this! DSC/Brake lights

Short story, 2007 hatchback:

  • Replaced "everything" suspension related--front and rear.
  • Had to drop sub-frame and remove steering rack in the process.
  • Reassembled.
  • Immediately upon start up before driving at all, yellow DSC! light came on. Drove 1/4 mile, yellow brake light came on. Wipers came on and wouldn't go off until turned car off.
What did I mess up in the repair process? What do I do next?

Thank you.

You might be possible that you damaged an ABS sensor. When an ABS wheel speed sensor fails, the ABS / DSC module looses road wheel speed for the corresponding wheel and sets a fault code for the ABS wheel speed signal. When a fault code is set, the ABS / DSC warning light will illuminate. You will have to scan the module and read the fault codes to determine which speed sensor is the problem. Keep in mind that other problems can illuminate the ABS / DSC warning light. Be sure to scan and read the fault codes before replacing parts. We have a DIY here that goes over testing them. If you do need to replace one we have a DIY here for the replacement. Also, be sure to check that one isn't unplugged or has a broken connector or wire. But, with the combo you're describing it could also be a steering angle sensor issue. After reading this NAM thread here, since your wipers are doing what they are doing an individual at post #17 noted that it could be due to the steering angle sensor failing. More info here with a link to a thread on the SZL at post #2. Check the sensors and plug in to read the faults and go from there. Good luck!

Did you check the ABS sensor at the hub , they crack easy.

On the other item sounds like you might have touched or damaged a main harnesses.
