I need help with choosing new tires
I have a 2011 mini with 175/65r15 on it and I would some good tires that are quiet and handles great. Can any one tell me what tires would be good ? I have looked and studied but now I'm all confused
Do you drive when the temperature is below 40F? Do you drive in snow? Given that quiet and "great handling" tend to be mutually exclusive, can you name a tire you've had that you think has great handling? One that was quiet?
Is treadwear a consideration? Price? Warranty?
There are more choices in 195/60-15 which will fit ok, but IMO there are no great choices in 15" tires since Michelin discontinued the A/S 3 in 175/65-15. You might call around to find a set in someone's warehouse, but I wouldn't hold my breath. And they might not be quiet enough for you.
Search on minihune's posts. He has posted a plethora of data about tire choices. Or call Alex at Tirerack.

I still have the oem continual as on there and their getting rough. I live in central Ms. And don't get very cold must of the time. Sometimes in the 20's probably around 20 days in the winter season and 30's around 30 times and the rest around the 40's
OEM Continentals came in both summer and all-season models. I'm suspecting you have and need all-seasons with temperatures below 40F. The OEM ProContact is certainly not a great handling tire but Alex recommends it for smooth riding.

In Grand Touring All Season tires (a blend of good handling, longer tread life and all season use):
see tire owner ratings

The top tires are all good and are at different prices-
Michelin Premier A/S is expensive at $122 each but is the top tire.
Bridgestone Driveguard at $99 each is a strong second.
General Altimax RT43 is a good budget tire at $65 each.
The other tire class to look at is High Performance All Season tires.

A little more budget minded, you get value but less good handling. Not bad for the price.
A very good compromise between performance and quiet is the Kumho Ecsta PA31.
The Conti's as mentioned are the best for ride quality in the size.
