I've been losing coolant on the passenger side. Immediate thought was leaky water pump.
Got a new one and replaced it. (I wanted to see if it was possible to do it from under the car. Mission accomplished and I didn't have to take apart the whole front of the car. It was tight, it took a long time, and I did most of the work by feel because I had to work on the other side of the frame and not be able to see what I was doing....but I did it. Yay me!)
Problem:
-Still leaking from the same area. Right/passenger side, under the water pump.
-All bolts are tight and the new pump is seated well.
-After scratching my head for a while I went to dispose of the drained coolant found a rubber o-ring in the bucket.
-Went through the cooling system diagrams for R56 and the only o-rings that match the one that came out are for a thermostat to water pump housing hose. There are two of them.
-I am assuming the right-side o-ring decided to come out and the hose is leaking there. (Don't ask me how that happened. It seems physically impossible, but, there it is.)
-Spent an hour trying to figure out how to get to the hose from either the top or the bottom. There are no write-ups or videos that I can find anywhere.
-I hope I don't have to remove the whole freakin' engine to fix/replace that hose.
-I'd love to be able to fix it myself.
Does anyone have a write-up/vid on fixing that water pump housing hose?

There is some info here, Sounds like its not seated all the way in or you have pieces of the old water pipe stuck on the backside of the waterpump housing:
I've ordered a new water pump pipe and new thermostat. I saw some coolant pooling on top of the motor and read in a few threads that it is indicative of a leaky thermostat housing.
So, after I put in these next two parts, I'll have a mostly new cooling system except for the radiator. YouTube has a good walkthrough for thermostat housing replacement.
