Airbag fault from removing headliner??

Anyone ever get an airbag light from taking the headliner out? Other than the a-pillars and the stuff by the mirror, everything else had already been out of the car before with no issues. The car wasn't started while I was taking the headliner out. Ideas? The fault says it's an airbag tensioner or something associated with that. The only thing I can possibly think of is that I did remove the passengers side sill plate but that shouldn't have caused an issue. Luckily I'm going to the dealership Friday for another issue so I'll have them reset that light then.

There is a seatbelt tensioner, but I've never heard the term "tensioner" applied to an airbag. However the seatbelt tensioner is connected to the airbag system and will cause an airbag warning if it's disconnected or faulty. Did you disconnect any wires under the seat?

The tensioner is part of the seat belt buckle. There is a small charge at the end of the tensioner that goes off and pulls your seat belt tight to take up the slack. Maybe while you were restyling out the headliner your pushed banged moved the tensioner. Did you take out the seats to give yourself more room ?

Nope. The seats never came out. I followed the factory method and removed the left rear seat back, move the passenger seat forward, and moved the driver's seat forward and then laid the backrest down. I never touched any wiring other than what's in the headliner. It's odd. In my R55 I had the whole interior out for deadening and never had an airbag light. It's very odd, indeed.

So the airbag fault was a fluke. They cleared it and it stayed off. No other codes. Lights was just a fuse but the tech couldn't remember the number. It wasn't anything I would have thought it should be.
