Top operation on the move ?

I apologize if there's a thread, I could not find it by searching.
Is there a hack to disable the car blocking top operations when in movement ? I'm not planning to use the top as an emergency airbrake at 80,but if I'm in traffic doing 3 mph I think it will be safe to open or close (or finish the opening or closing)... any such hack ?

Not that I know of, I could take the Official MINI Safety stance and say ... if it was safe to operate the top at 3 or 4 mph they would have made to top operate at 3 or 4 mph.

But as it is I don't know why the decision was made to make it the way it is... I'm just happy it is automatic and not a manual open and close. Personally I too would like to be able to open or close it if I was creeping up to a red light of stuck in crawling traffic.

Motor on!

Yes, you can do it at very low speeds. Think it was < 2.48 mph. And they tell you not to open the sunroof part above 75 mph. You can put the back side window down a hair , with the top slid back in sunroof postilion to help with the wind buffeting with the top up and in sunroof position.

The R57 top can be opened at 5 MPH or less but not the R52. When the R57 first came out it was announced as a new feature. The sun roof segment will open while rolling as you've discovered.

Does that mean don't open it above 75mph, as in it must be closed above that speed or do not operate if already exceeeding 75MPH?
