2013 jcw exhaust - snap, crackle, pop ;-)

just had my stock jcw exhaust in my 2013 modified - removed the 2ndary cat and resonator. what a difference and saving $1000 for an aftermarket exhaust. i was thinking of ordering the quicksilver exhaust but did further research and gave it a shot on the deletes. i'm extremely happy with the 10-15% increase in sounds, absolutely no drone at freeway speeds, and a whole lot of snap, crackle, and pop...enjoy the quick video clips. cost of this simple mod was $150 at local race shop including tig welding the straight pipe.

nm engineering ecu flash (among a list of mods) coming soon so let's see if a few sparks will shoot out. i installed st xta coilovers recently and am very happy with them. the wheels are nm engineering 18" rse12 in matte black wrapped with michilen pilot super sport tires.

pix are here...

follow up...after about 50 miles of driving around today, i noticed a few things and love this simple mod even more:

- there is NO droning for sure.

- on WOT a nice throaty tone comes from under the front seats (about where the resonator was located) and back.

- throttle response when stomping on the gas in any gear is definitely quite noticeable.

- overall sound volume increase is about 15-20%.

- so much snap, crackle, and pop that i'm smiling with every throttle lift.

Great, thanks. Sounds great in the garage. Bet driving around and downshifts and letting off throttle sounds great.

Wow that is a ton of crackle on the over-run. Mine doesn't crackle at all so does that mean that I'm richer than you?

LOL I just couldn't resist and I do have crackle envy

Actually you're probably running leaner than mine. Richer will mean more fuel equaling more afterburn if I recall correctly.

No worry, to each his own ;-) Of course the Lambo is an entirely different world with the QuickSilver Titan exhaust I had installed.

It's been a blast! Warm it up a bit and with Sport on, she pops like crazy. Noticing lots of heads turning on drive-by's in parking lots and ramps ;-)

Ok question for you/ECS - are your Exact-Fit red SS brake lines direct fit with my '13 JCW? Or will there be slight modifications to the end connectors to fit? Thanks!

Yes - if your exhaust has the secondary cat and a resonator. Look at the piping from the down pipe back.

+1 the JCW Tuning Kit exhaust has a little different sound then the FJCW. When you remove the res on either if it will sound more aggressive. But each has there own tone.

On the JCW Tuning Kit exhaust it shares the same mid pipe as the Cooper S. Factory JCW exhaust have a different pipe w/ res.
