New Clubman [pics]

In the wild Venice Beach.

Car is super long. The hips above the tail lights grabbed my attantion. Makes the car look bubbled out. The understated wheels look anemic. It has almost a station wagon look to it. Comparing its size compared to the parked cars speaks to how the Mini doesnt look so mini. The 6 door configuration must be very usable. This car looked like a base model. With decent kit this car will be rugged. I will say the car did not sound like massaged N14. This car sounded good. The diesel'ly chatter most of our cars make was not there. Had a different note to my ear.

I found this looking for the length of it and my eyes seem to be correct
" The redesigned 2016 MINI Clubman has officially debuted, but it’s not quite as MINI as you might think.

Measuring 168.3 inches in length, the MINI Clubman is actually longer than a lot of cars offered today, but there are some that might surprise you. It’s a sign of change for the MINI brand — since its inception, the automaker has been known for building subcompact, fun-to-drive cars. In a sign of how things are changing and a testament to how much people love crossovers, the new MINI Clubman offers plenty more space for cargo and passengers, but it’s not quite mini."

This is a JCW build would be wicked

This is only the second MINI that has tempted my wife to upgrade from her 2005 MCS. The Countryman was the first but she didn't like the drive enough to trade. The 5 door hatch is neat, but she really likes the looks of the wagon.
