Is GP kit the same as JCW?
You should ask them to clarify, because there is no such thing as a "GP kit" (GP is a factory model not a kit). My guess is that they might be using the wrong terminology to mean the JCW model. Ask them what are the different possible models on their list. The 2nd gen GP is only 2013 model year.

It is two separate models but sometimes insurance companies lump cars together too.
For instance, my '08 Forester Sports XT was listed as a "Forester X/XT". The turbo and non-turbo were classed together.
Run your VIN in the free CarFax or AutoCheck and see what it says.

THANKS MAN! I checked autocheck and there was no mention of GP. I'll have to fight this out with the insurance company on Monday

I guess your insurance uses CarFax to look up the car model
.
GP doesn't make sense since it's only 2013. It's possible that they lump JCW and GP in the same category. However, I thought it's a big deal for insurance rating whether the car has a back seat (the GP doesn't).
