Clatter while turning and breaking

Since installing me current set of wheels, I'm getting a very unpleasant chatter/clatter or harsh grinding sound from the front wheels while applying the brakes with the wheels turned (turning into a driveway, braking through a particularly sharp twist in the road). There seems to be sufficient clearance between the wheels and calipers. There are also no visible scrapes or signs of contact on the calipers. I was thinking that maybe it was a clearance issue which could maybe be solved with spacers? The car is a '13 JCW R55. The wheels are 17" OZ Formula4 HLT.

I'd check torque on your wheel bolts. You did torque them down with a torque wrench right?

How much clearance between the wheel and caliper? Can you snap a photo?
