I just got a PM from LJinNC and there is a monthly meeting in August. This one will be an Apex Run as well. YAY! This one I can do, it's local. It's going to be August 19 and we will be eating in Apex. Chris will figure out a place. This is just a heads up, but more details will be posted later by Chris I'm sure! :smile:

Sorry for the lack of response... I've been travelling for the last week with little access and time to check the message boards.

As far as the 19th... This was a normal monthly meeting night that happen to fall on same night as Apex Cruise Night. I thought we could meet in downtown Apex for this meeting. The "Cruise" thing is from 6-8/9pm.

I wasn't planning a run that night, but we certainly can. I will think about a 45-60 minute drive we could start at 5pm and finish in Apex at 6pm.

There is a good little Mexican restaurant in downtown where we could eat.

The downtown thing isn't much more than a social gathering for other car enthusiasts to show off their cars. I thought is would be cool to have a bunch of MINI's there.

I went to the last one and unfortunately it downpoured 30minutes into the event. Scattered everyone away.

 

After more thought... a drive on Thursday evening will not be very good. Too much traffic to contend with as well as working around people's jobs. I think we should just stick with the dinner and a meeting in Apex.

That works for me. There would be no way that I could be there by 5:00 to do the run! Just let me know where we are meeting and at what time! I'll be there! :smile:

Hi All...
Thursday night is still scheduled Apex Cruise Night. The cruise night is scheduled from 6-8pm. I thought we could meet at 6pm or shortly after, check out other cars and such and then eat at the Mexican restaurant around 7.

I will try to get a block of parking spaces for us all to park MINI's together. We can probably get 3 MINIs in 2 spots

Chris, I know downtown Apex isn't compared to New York, but have you got a street name where we're going to meet?

 

I'll definitely be there, please do give me a little info. I know how to get to downtown Apex, but I've never really looked around much there.

 

Salem St is the main street through the downtown area. If you target the corner of Salem St and Chatham St you will be there.

Michelle- it looks like you take the exit for Hwy 10/ Center St. off Hwy 1. Turn left off the ramp and head into town. This will run into Salem St. Turn left on Salem and Chatham looks like it's a block or two down. That'll get you in the right area. I don't exactly know where the restaurant is from there.

From US1 south take the Ten-Ten Road exit. Turn right at end of looped exit ramp and go wesat until it dead ends (~1.5 miles).
You will be at Salem Street.
Turn left onto Salem Street and look for MINIs

Looks like the worst is still going on...I really don't think that I will be able to make dinner tonight. If I get out of work early enough, I'll head over that way, but I'm not sure how long I will be here. If I'm still here at 6:30 I won't be there.

Had a fun time last night. Good to meet the new people and see the old ones. There were some really nice rides parked on that street! It's so good to see that the American hotrod is still alive and well. Next time I'll have to remember the camera. :smile:
It's kind of funny, when Chris mentioned this outing last month, I was thinking the crowd would be more of the boy-racer type. Sure glad that idea was wrong!
By the way, did anyone remember to check their raffle ticket? I thought about it on the way home.

Yup, I had a great time too...sorry to disappoint you guys by not being gothed out... I could have, but would have scared all the locals away! Unfortunately working late sucks! Anyway...like you Bob, I forgot to check my ticket as well. I still think it's in my skirt pocket I had on last night. Oh well.

Sorry I couldn't make the run, didn't have the gas or the right shoes to do a run! I prefer tennis shoes and they were at home.

I did like the older cars too, it was really cool to see them out there!

Just give me an exit number in Charlotte Bob, and I'm sure we'll meet you there! We'll have a parade of black MCSs going into Greenville. I just stick out...I have no stripes!
