NM intake w/o inlet tube?

NM engineering provide two options for intake, one with inlet tube and one without.

In the description, NM said because the N18 engine has a hard plastic inlet tube that is "similar" to theirs, so they leave the inlet and provide a cheaper option

However I got the N14 JCW, which is a N14 engine with the hard plastic inlet tube same as those N18s. I wonder getting the NM intake without the inlet will affect the performance or sound a lot. I don't care about the looks because I close my hood most of the time.

Thanks for answering my question, cheers!

I'm no expert but it probably wouldn't change performance that much.
It should work.
