Just added 1000+ songs to my MINI's audio library. That was easy!

But now I can only play the songs in alphabetical order by title. Even when I put the unit on "Random" and then skip a track I don't want to listen to, it reverts back to alphabetical order.

I am sure this is just user ignorance, but what can I do to keep the unit on "Random" even when skipping tracks?

to clarify, you're going into OPTION on the MINI and checking the box for Random and it still reverts back to alphabetical? Does it revert right away or when you restart the car it starts playing the first alphabetical song?

 

Sorry for digging up an old thread but I seem to have this problem as well. I am just using a USB with my music for now cuz I haven't figured out how to install songs on the HD yet. (how many song will it hold) but yes, it keeps wanting to play everything alphabetically and not shuffle at all.

How do I change that?

 

From the MINI Motorer's Guide app:

Random Playback

iPod: the playlist is displayed in random order and is played in the order they appear.

USB device: the playlist is displayed in conventional order but tracks are played in random order.

1. "Multimedia"
2. "External devices"
3. Open "Options"
4. "Random"
