Aftermarket Exhaust Throwing Codes

I just purchased a 2012 Mini Cooper S and would like to add a catback exhaust, probably either a Miltek or a NM Engineering. But I met some folks from Nova Scotia with a 2010, 2011 and two 2012 Minis and they have gone back to stock because they have had problems with aftermarket exhausts throwing codes.

I have not heard of this happening with just a catback installed.

Have other folks had similar experiences with the R56 not liking the exhaust change?

I had an R53 with a Miltek and never had any issues.

Thanks!

The only time you might get a code, is if you replace the downpipe. A cat back (muffler) will be fine.

Just a catback won't give you a check engine light. But the Downpipe will so maybe that is what they had.
We offer almost every brand available so give us a call and we can go over the plus and minus of each to find which will be best for you.
