What Nut Goes On KW V1?

I'm getting things ready to install a used set of KWV1's. The one's I got were from a member here on NAM. They did not show up with the top nuts for the coilovers. I ordered OEM top nuts thinking they would be the same. Well guess again, no.

So the question is, what type of nut and size should I get for these? And do I have to get them from KW or can I simply pick these up at the local hardware store?

You could pick them up at the local hardware store. I'd recommend a locking nut to help prevent it from backing off. Unfortunately I don't know the size/thread pitch. You should be able to measure the thread diameter and that would at least give you the size (m__) and then you just buy a bolt in all the thread pitches (likely only two or three). Or you could take a shock to the hardware store with you.

This is probably what I will do. These bolts are only a few cents a pop, so it won't kill me to pick up a bunch if needed. But I'll probably just bring the shock with me and find the one that works.

Ok, I went to the hardware store. Guess what, NO match!

Anyone else have any ideas? I've contacted KW but haven't got an email back yet.

KW Emailed back last week. For those who are interested the Nuts are as follows.

Front top nuts are M14x1.5

Rear top nuts are M10x1

Both are self locking

For others that run into this issue, you may have get these nuts from KW directly. I tried the 5 or 6 hardware stores in town, 1 out of town, and even tried ordering online. While ordering them online was going to work it was going to potentially going to take 2 weeks to get.

I ended up getting them KW directly and paid way more in shipping than the parts cost me. Perhaps you'll be luckier than myself, but these are evidently specialty parts.

Bolt depot is a great place to order small amounts of hardware from and they have grade 10.9 nylock nuts in the sizes you're looking for.

I tried Fastenal, they reported that they had them, until I had ordered them and they had to get them from the vender then send them to me. Annoying. Oh well, the nuts I need are on they're way and I will hopefully have my coilovers installed this weekend!
