2008 middle console. What the heck is it.

I have a 2008 S. What the heck does the button in the middle console do. It looks like the symbol of a speaker with arrows in it. For the life of me I cannot figure out what this button does. A little education please. Thanks..

My bad. I meant the one that sits between the seats. The one that you rest your elbow on. It slides open. Has space for hardly anything useful.

You must be wired for the snap in adpater in the center console / factory armrest. Its the bluetooth setup. Also to get the snap in adatper to charge your phone.
